Annual Day on the Rights of the Child
March 9
On March 9th, part of the Human Rights Council, the official program for the Annual Day on the Rights of the Child will feature two critical panel discussions (morning and afternoon) focused on safeguarding children in crisis. Ahead of the event, GCPEA has engaged in targeted advocacy with key speakers and partners—including the SRSG for Children and Armed Conflict (CAAC), the ICRC, and the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC). Through these collaborative efforts, we have ensured that the Safe Schools Declaration (SSD) and the protection of education will be prominently highlighted in their remarks.
