Ahead of the event\, GCPEA has engaged in targeted advocacy with key speakers and partners—including the SRSG for Children and Armed Conflict (CAAC)\, the ICRC\, and the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC). Through these collaborative efforts\, we have ensured that the Safe Schools Declaration (SSD) and the protection of education will be prominently highlighted in their remarks. \nHead to UN Web TV (Link)\, at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM to watch the panels live (Central European Time). Recognising that displacement\, trauma\, and a lack of resources often exclude the most vulnerable—including children with disabilities\, those without parental care\, and survivors of sexual violence—this session aims to bridge the gap between policy and lived reality. \nEvent overview\nThe session will take the form of a 60-minute panel discussion designed to: \n\nGround global discussions in the actual experiences and recommendations of children with lived experience.\nFacilitate an exchange of concrete\, proven approaches and programmes that provide accessible education in conflict zones.\nHighlight the importance of ensuring that education is tailored to the specific physical and emotional needs of marginalised groups.\n\nBy sharing tangible interventions and personal perspectives\, the event provides a platform to improve collective action and ensure no child is left behind due to war or institutional barriers.
