Strengthening domestic legal and policy frameworks to prevent and address grave violations against children in armed conflict has been a key recommendation of the United Nations’ Children and Armed Conflict (CAAC) agenda since its inception. Watchlist’s “Bringing Multilateralism Back Home” project aims to deepen understanding of successes and challenges in States’ efforts to adopt and implement laws and policies relevant to preventing and addressing grave violations against children during armed conflict.
At this virtual event, Watchlist will present key findings from this research project and highlight the important role domestic law and policy can play in protecting children affected by armed conflict.
This event will feature presentations from Rob Grace, Watchlist Lead Researcher and Maria Ligaya Añasco-Camilon, Research Consultant at Watchlist. Insights will also be shared by Lisa Chung Bender, Executive Director of the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack, and Mikiko Otani, President of Child Rights Connect, with Jo Becker, Advocacy Director, Children’s Rights Division at Human Rights Watch serving as moderator.
