Interactive Dialogue with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict
As part of the 24th Meeting of the 61st session of the Human Rights Council (HRC61), an Interactive Dialogue with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) for Children and Armed Conflict will take place on 10th March 2026. The session is scheduled to begin in the morning and will focus on the urgent need to protect the rights of children caught in global hostilities.
Key interventions
The 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ (GCPEA), in collaboration with Save the Children, will be delivering a Joint Statement during the dialogue. This statement will advocate for stronger international protections against school attacks and the military use of educational facilities.
Additionally, the Core Group on the Safe Schools Declaration (SSD) will present a Joint Statement to be delivered by Norway. This intervention will underscore the collective commitment of endorsing states to implement the Declaration and ensure that education remains a safe haven for all children, even in times of conflict.
